Santa Maria Alla Fontana Church

First of all we want to tell you the origin of this beautiful church’s name… Within its wonderful inner courtyard there is a room with a holy well, which is said to be miraculous.
 
It is said that Milan governor, suffered from an eye illness and went to a fountain in this area, which at that time was located in open access land…. The governor promised that if he had been healed he would have built a sanctuary in honour of Virgin Mary… And this is how the church was built.
