What a strange place to visit! At a first sight it might seem a simple red-brick wall, placed in the middle of the road, surrounded by buses and cars… But what’s behind there? Why is this place so popular?

Just try to walk around and you will notice that behind the bushes there are some steps leading you to the crypt of an ancient Roman basilica, with those walls being part of it. You will be stunned by its state! There are also some very friendly guardians who will be happy to tell you all about the crypt. The basilica stood right here and it is not the only thing that has survived…

You can admire its beautiful facade that has been moved from via Francesco Sforza 12 and it is now used as a facade for another church… Now you know the reason why these red-brick walls are so popular!
